Replica 1.5 volt Zenith Z-1 battery for 8G005 and 600 Series Trans-Oceanics
8G005 series Trans-Oceanics have a six tube filament string, and require an additional 1.5 volts in the A supply. Zenith provided a stronger, single cell 1.5 volt battery, the Z-1, in place of the paralled D cells used in the first generation 7G605 Trans-Oceanic.
In the 600 series Trans-Oceanics, the Z-1 powers the dial light circuit, which only works on battery power. The dial light does not work on AC power. None of the 500 series Trans-Oceanics, G500 or H500 models, require a supplementary battery. A quality 3D printed replica, it is a near match in dimensions to the orginal Z-1. Approximately 4" long. Requires one C cell.

The original pre-WWII Trans-Oceanics, the model 7G605, also requires an extra 1.5 volts in the tube filament (A supply) circuit. However, the 7G605 uses two D cells in parallel for this purpose. Vintage D cell labels are available here for the D cells/
